Our Initiative: Value Education
About the initiative
At PD, we care not only about a student’s academic education but also their character and moral values. Inspired by our Indian culture & philosophical values we deliver value education to students of grade 9th and 10th through moral stories, Sanskrit shlokas and teaching from the Bhagavad Gita. This is done through a weekly one hour sessions where respected & knowledgeable sr. citizens visit the students selflessly and teach them great learnings of life.
We carry out our value education initiative with a two pronged approach:
“Varta Satra” – Parayan (chanting shlokas), mythological moral stories, bhajan & sangeet
“Pravachan Kendra” – Bhagavad Gita (of Late Hari Bhai Kothari) and the values of human life
“Intelligence plus character that is the goal of true education”
Why Value Education as an initiative? Morals and ethical values are the backbone of the society we live in. In order to establish a community based on fairness, respect and honesty the people must have a clear thought process, courage, confidence & excellent decision making. Instilling these values at an early age can turn young minds into just and powerful leaders. Therefore, education must not be limited to just academics but should go beyond the confines of textbooks and reach the mind and soul of the students.
